A New Day!

Let's start the day off with a PayPal donation link:

This Morning
Yesterday Noah and I spent the morning at the old Outlets Limited Mall which is now a deteriorating building devoted to good causes. Today Noah and I helped the Boys and Girls Club sort packages for The Angel Tree. It was nice to help but eye opening to see how many wishes stand to go unfulfilled. Toys were labeled and stacked. Our job was to cross check the stack of toys against the master list and note which wishes were missing then bag the fulfilled ones for delivery. Each child receives 3 or 4 gifts. I don't think a single bag we touched had everything it should have. Some bags were left empty.

The group reported that they are only at 37% of their goal. With a gap of $93,000 of toys not yet donated. When asked, "At this point would you prefer money or gifts?" the answer was go to a tree and fulfill a wish since that saves the group from having to assign someone to go make the purchase. Some problems this year included trees being left in store managers offices and overlooked but the primary problem is that people are not contributing like they have in the past.

Apparently the Mayor was there. I had no idea. For that matter, I don't even know what he looks like.
